How does the Burst broadcast integration work?

Burst is a cloud platform that enables broadcast and media companies to acquire video content captured during a live event from fans/viewers and/or reporters/social teams and instantly deliver approved media to the live production - broadcast TV, digital or in-venue productions. The process is easy to implement - here is an example of a typical workflow:

  1. Acquire ContentUser submits media into a Bubble (which is a Burst container in the cloud), either through the Burst App (iOS or Android), the Burst website or an easily customized mobile web UGC (user-generated content) flow.
  2. Approve Media - A content manager reviews media coming into a Bubble and tags some of them as “Approved-for-Broadcast”.  This approval is the only step that requires manual intervention.
  3. Automated Transcoding - Approved media is (optionally) transcoded in the Burst cloud to a format that is compatible for ingestion into the downstream broadcast or digital system.
  4. Delivery to Broadcast - The BurstOnTV client software in the truck, stadium control center, studio or newsroom receives the media over the Internet and pushes it into the downstream broadcast system.
